Visiting your son or daughter at Herkimer County Community College and want
to take in the sites? Just a forty-minute scenic drive away lies the historic village
of Cooperstown, New York on the shores of Otsego Lake, home of the National
Baseball Hall of Fame, the Glimmerglass Opera and Brewery Ommegang.
Enjoy a stroll down the tree lined sidewalks and stop at many of the interesting
“mom and pop” shops and restaurants.
Love the outdoors? Then Cooperstown will be a treat for your outdoor delights
as well! With six state parks in the nearby area and one close to the village, there
is no shortage of places to enjoy the outdoors or take a tour of the lake. Dinner
cruises are available throughout the area. There’s something for all ages at the
Cooperstown Farmer’s Museum with special programs throughout the year and
operating at full capacity May through October.
Don’t miss the Fly Creek Cider Mill on the way to or from Cooperstown. The Mill has become a destination for locals and
tourists alike and is open from May through December. From Cooperstown Village Limit: Follow SR 28 north/80 west 2.2
miles to FlyCreek. Turn right onto CR 26 for 3/10 mile. Turn right onto Goose Street. The Mill will be on the left.

There’s no better place then Central New York for antiquing! With plenty ofplaces to attract the antique enthusiasts along
the way back to Herkimer, one should always leave extra room in the car. Check out the famous Route 20 corridor which
runs parallel to the New York State Thruway. This area is well known for its iconic beauty and small town country
communities. Just a few miles away are the historic Jordanville Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Monastery as well as
Gelston Castle.If you’re lucky to be in town during the last weeks of August, you will be able to attend the Herkimer County
Fair and the Bouckville Antique Show and Festival. Both events attract thousands of visitors to our area, so reserve your
